Eagle Mountain is kind of 2 cities. You have the Ranches & then about 8-10 minutes further to the West, you have city center. If you’re not familiar with Utah, the Ranches is closer to civilization making real estate in this part of the city more expensive but also making life more convenient. The further west you go toward city center, the less expensive homes will be.
What makes Eagle Mountain a great place to live?
#1 WIDE-OPEN Space and that small town rural feel. If you’re looking for some land or some horse property, you can find plenty of it here. Eagle Mountain is the largest city in Utah county as far as land mass goes. Eagle Mountain covers 44.46 sq. miles. The city’s population of approximately 40,000 people is spread out. And, because a large portion of the land is designated for farming & ranching, naturally, you’re going to have the rural atmosphere.
#2 The price for homes & land is lower here than in many other parts of the state. You can get more land or a larger, newer home for your money.
#3 Loads of parks, playgrounds & trails that lead out into nature. Eagle Mountain has about 40 parks including a splash pad, an amphitheater, a bike park, basketball courts, baseball fields, pavilions, playgrounds & more.
#4 Eagle Mountain is Brand New, being incorporated in 1996, officially becoming a city in 2001. The stores, schools & homes are new! Last year the city built its first high school.
#5 Clean Fresh air. In Utah, especially Salt Lake City, the inversion can get trapped between the Mountains, but at 5,000 feet above sea level, Eagle Mountain sits above the inversion, keeping the air here fresh & sweet.
#6 Future growth & Equity. With the city being new and the low cost of land there’s sure to be future growth. Both Facebook & Tyson Foods plan to build large facilities here. More large businesses are sure to come. This is great news for residents as these large companies will improve infrastructure & bring jobs close to home.
#7 Amazing sunrises & sunsets. The sunrises & sunsets here are amazing because we’ve got large mountain ranges to the east and west.
#8 The People are friendly and actually care about your well being. I’ve seen members of this community come together on multiple occasions to take care of those in need. As a community & as neighbors we gather often to enjoy each other’s company and to celebrate life. I’ve lived in more than a dozen cities & I can honestly say there’s something so sweet & beautiful about living in Eagle Mountain. No matter your race, religion, or choice of lifestyle, you will be accepted here.
#9 It's a SUPER safe place to live, having one of the lowest crime rates in the country. Statistically Eagle Mountain is safer than 89% of US cities. Your chances of becoming a victim of a violent crime is about 1 in 2,095. That’s less than a .5% chance which makes your odds 8 times lower than the national average.
#10 Close to shopping, restaurants & entertainment. Eagle Mountain has added its first grocery store & hardware store in the Ranches. The city has also added restaurants like Dominos, Subway, Pizza Hut, Starbucks and more. To the East is the city of Saratoga Springs and it’s a HUGE benefit to the people who live here. In 5 minutes of drive time for those who live in the Ranches is, Walmart, Costco, Fatcats (movie theater, bowling, arcade) Saratoga also has a huge Smiths grocery store & dozens of restaurants among other things. For members of the LDS faith, it's a short drive to the New Saratoga Spring LDS Temple.
The drive from the Ranches to Salt Lake City will take 45-60 minutes depending on traffic. If you live in City center, you’ll need to add 10 minutes to the drive time.
