Utah is an exciting, adventurous place to live. We have 5 National parks & 43 State parks with incredible & unique landscapes. In, on & around these parks you’ll find some amazing hiking & biking trails, many of which lead to majestic mountain peaks & towering waterfalls. We have dozens of beautiful, clean lakes great for boating, fishing or any number of water sports. Not to mention, many of our communities build beautiful parks that include jogging trails, soccer fields, basketball courts, playground equipment & more. Honestly, it’s really hard to get board in Utah. And, if you can’t find something fun to do in Utah, you’re simply not trying. AND, if you want to live a long healthy life, Utah is a great place. A large percentage of Utahn’s like to eat healthy & exercise.
Because UTah is 50% LDS & because the Mormon’s were the first settlers, the LDS culture weighs heavily on what it’s like to live in Utah. One cultural differences is that Utahn’s get married young. You'll see loads of young married couples still in their 20’s with 3, 4 & sometimes even 5 kids. It’s normal here. In Utah, a lot of kids get married within a few short years of graduating high school & soon after, start a family.
Something that makes Utah stand out as an amazing place to live is the People. Residents of Utah are genuine. They really care for others & it has been well documented that Utahn’s are among the most generous people in the country with both their time & money. Utahn’s want to talk with you & have real conversation. When you move here don’t be surprised if complete strangers show up to your new house & offer to help you unload your moving van. AND, you should expect at least one of your neighbors to stop by with some cookies or another treat to introduce themselves, get to know you better & even see if there’s anything you need.
People from Utah talk weird, especially when it comes to cussing. Utahn’s replace bad language with words you won’t hear anywhere else in the world. We like to replace the F-word with Fetch, Freak, or sometimes we’ll say effing. It’s probably just as bad as dropping the actual F-BOMB, but it doesn’t sound as offensive. Other substitutes for bad language include words like holy crap, heck & there’s a lot more. Utahn’s also like to shorten words. We’ll say Mount’n instead of Mountain. Utahn’s use a lot of weird words & I’ve gone in-depth on how Utahn’s talk in a video – How to talk like a Utahn. It’s a fun & popular video so, you’ll want to check it out when you’re done with this one.
We also have a problem with poor air quality, aka Inversion. Usually, our air quality is great, but our air quality can go from amazing to dangerous real quick. Utah has all 4 seasons. The 4 seasons play a huge roll in making Utah beautiful with the snow-capped mountains in the winter filling our lakes for the summer.
Utah has a lot of great activities for families. We have the Lagoon, a theme park, indoor trampoline parks, rock climbing, bowling lanes, indoor swimming pools, rec centers, bounce houses, and The Ninja Playground. Utah also plays host to the infamous Sundance Film festival.
The 3 places in Utah that we love to visit are St. George, Moab & Lake Powell.
Our National parks include Zions, Bryce Canyon, Arches, Capitol Reef, & Canyonlands.
